Host a Workshop

Our Innovative Workshop Programs

Designed to help the vibrant and ever-evolving local creative community be inspired and foster growth in their continued learning experiences, our studio provides the following options for educators to use our studio free of charge for workshops.

  • Educator-Sponsored Workshop — This option is available to renters who have had a minimum of three rentals within the preceeding six months and are for workshops fully advertised and managed by the educator.

  • Studio-Sponsored Workshop — These workshops provide the full resources of the studio’s staff, technologies and advertising network. With these events, we also provide the option to fully clear out the studio, provide refreshments on the day, and actively help with financial resources as they are needed.

Educator-Sponsored Workshops

What do you provide?

If you submit a request to host a workshop at our studio and are approved, we will provide the following:

  • Use of our studio space as it is currently set.

  • Use of our lighting, props, and client closet.

What helps me to be approved?

  • Minimum of 3 Rentals Within the Last Six Months. All educator-sponsored workshop hosts must have a minimum of three rentals within the preceeding six months to ensure hosts are familiar with and have actively worked in the studio.

  • Open to All. A key factor is being approved is the number of participants and how open ticket availability is for other creatives. Our goal in providing our space is to encourage connections and the development of friendships within the creative community, so the more open and available a workshop is to creatives of different backgrounds and skill levels, the more likely it is that your request will be approved.

I’ve never hosted a workshop before. Is that okay?

Absolutely! The goal of our workshops is not only to help our local photography community but to also provide creatives who are at the very beginning stages of what may be a potential educator-focused journey have a platform to start.

Wait, but how do you make any money for workshops?

We don’t! Rather than dumping a ton of money into advertising on IG, we’d rather focus our marketing on things that matter. Workshops create a key network of advertising for us, allowing creatives to not only learn about the studio but also engage and feel more comfortable in using the studio.

Why don’t you list non-studio sponsored events on the studio calendar?

Assurance of attendee experience. Studio-sponsored events are designed to reduce costs for creative educators to ensure affordable ticket prices at an unbeatable value for attendees. Being actively involved in planning and providing additional resources when needs arise helps us to ensure that every event we offer meets or exceeds what our attendees have come to expect.

While we know all educators have a passion for teaching and providing amazing content to their attendees, as we don’t play an active role in the planning/execution of educator-sponsored events, we don’t include these events our calendar to help prevent any confusion.

Is the workshop program exclusively tailored for photographers?

Not at all! Our workshop program is thoughtfully designed to cater to all types of creatives, including photographers, videographers, hair and makeup artists, and models.

I’ve never hosted a workshop before. Is that okay?

Absolutely! The goal of our workshops is not only to help our local photography community but to also provide creatives who are at the very beginning stages of what may be a potential educator-focused journey have a platform to start.

What do you need from me?

If approved, we will need a short bio from you, a title for your workshop, and a minimum of three short descriptions of how you would like for us to advertise your workshop. && Of course, your awesome smile and instruction on the day!

Will I be paid?

Absolutely! Workshop hosts are paid proceeds from all ticket sales minus any processing fees paid by the studio.

How is pricing for tickets determined?

We allow educators to set their own price for tickets. We always encourage educators to do some market research with their audience (IG polls are great for this!) to gain feedback on what people would be willing to spend. With all workshops, the more you offer and provide in value, the larger the group of attendees will be.

How does payment work?

If using our studio ticketing system, educators receive all of the proceeds minus studio costs in processing fees from their workshops, paid out via check at the end of the workshop.

Wait, but how do you make any money for workshops?

We don’t! Rather than dumping a ton of money into advertising on IG, we’d rather focus our marketing on things that matter. Workshops create a key network of advertising for us, allowing creatives to not only learn about the studio but also engage and feel more comfortable in using our space.

Can I sell tickets through my own platform?

When we advertise and include a workshop on our studio calendar, we require tickets to be sold through our ticketing platform. This helps us to ensure that we know how many people will be in attendance, can answer attendees' questions, provide refunds as needed, and consume any associated processing fees. But, please know you can reach out to us at any time to get an update about signups!

What topics are ideal?

Topics related to lighting, advanced editing, software applications, marketing, and effective posing techniques are the topics we see most requested. However, don't be afraid to let your imagination soar and explore beyond conventional boundaries. We always welcome and encourage the latest innovative techniques and valuable information that can elevate artistry and skills!
